DUMBBELL ONLY CHEST & TRICEP WORKOUT

Benefits of training chest with dumbbells:
  • Dumbbells allow a greater range of motion. You are able to lower the weights past chest level which maximises the stretching of the pecs and activates more muscle fibres as a result.
  • Dumbbells place less stress on your joints. Your wrists are able to rotate slightly, and your elbows and shoulders can travel along the path that’s most comfortable for them.
  • Dumbbells give you balanced development and strength. Sometimes when pressing with a barbell you will favour your stronger side. With dumbbells your left and right sides will have to push with equal force.

 

Equipment needed – Pair of dumbbells & adjustable bench (recommended)

Exercise 1

  • Press ups – 10 reps x 3 sets

 

Exercise 2

  • Bench press – 10 reps x 4 sets

 

Exercise 3

  • Incline bench press – 10 reps x 4 sets

 

Exercise 4

  • Chest flys – 10 reps x 3 sets

 

Exercise 5 (super set)

  • Overhead Extensions – 10 reps x 3 sets

  • Tricep dips – 10 reps x 3 sets
